A Bit About Us

Best Friends Farm was the lifelong dream of Cecilia Fernandez, who alongside her husband and co-founder was able to make it a reality in October of 2015.

A lifelong animal lover, Cecilia has dedicated her life to animal well-being and rescue.

Cecilia is a firm believer in the power of the human-animal bond.  In her experience working with animals as therapy for children of all abilities, she witnessed empathy, unconditional love, patience and strength come through in the children's progress and success.

All of the animals at Best Friends Farm were rescued from the perils of abuse and neglect.  Providing them with a chance to live out the rest of their lives in the peace and dignity that they all deserve is a way of giving back what had so unjustly and arrogantly been taken away.

Children often identify and bond with animals as they provide the unconditional love, trust and encouragement that is at times lacking in their lives.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding

The power of nature is priceless.  The value of simply viewing nature is ancient and well known.
Our interactions with the animals at Best Friends Farm are always respectful, kind and beneficial for both parties, animal and human.
The benefits of therapeutic horseback riding and human-animal interaction are well studied and documented.

Sponsor one of our animals!

Your support is important to our work at Best Friends Farm. There are many ways you can contribute towards our causes, and every little bit that you commit goes a long way in helping us fulfill our mission.
You can sponsor an animal with a monthly donation that will help with two of the largest expenses in the care of the animals: veterinary care and feeding.
Of course the gratification of knowing that you are contributing to the loving care of a rescued animal is your first reward.
Additionally, you will receive monthly updates, pictures, and 2 annual scheduled visits to spend some time with your sponsored animal!
If you've always wanted to make a meaningful contribution to the world, if you too would like to help save animals but maybe lack the space or time, this is your chance to take part in meaningful work.
If you want to teach your children to be compassionate, caring individuals, to be stewards of our planet, this is where it all starts! Helping the voiceless, the most vulnerable beings.
Thank you!
YOU CAN MAKE A DONATION BY MAKING YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT THROUGH OUR SAFE PAYPAL "DONATE NOW" BUTTON OR BY MAILING THE DONATION TO THE ADDRESS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
ONCE YOU CHOOSE AN ANIMAL (OR MORE) TO SPONSOR, YOU CAN CONTACT US AT bestfriendsfarmoxford@gmail.com TO RECEIVE YOUR SPONSOR INFORMATION PACKET

Your Friends at Best Friends Farm

Meet the Animals!

Providing the best care for our rescued animals at Best Friends Farm takes more than the dedication, time and love that comes easily to us.

The daily feeding, routine and emergency veterinary care and farrier visits are the biggest expenses at the farm.

Did you know that our monthly hay cost alone is $400?

The farrier, who comes every 6-8 weeks, costs $250 plus the cost of the veterinarian sedating Pebbles.

The cost of the grain for all of the animals is an average of $300 a month.

As a non-profit rescue organization, these figures do not include salaries, facility maintenance or bedding straw costs. We do everything as a family, with gratitude, sacrifice and devotion.

Your donations and sponsorships will help ease some of the financial aspect of running a non-profit animal sanctuary, where these precious souls will live out their lives in peace and dignity.
